There is the saying that sometimes less is more. This also applies to happiness. By this we do not mean that less happiness is more. Rather we mean that less stuff and room leads to more happiness.
In a TED Talk architect and industrial designer Graham Hill states that owning a lot of stuff means high debt, high CO2 footprints, and stress, while owning few things gives more freedom and more time.
He has three simple principles for achieving this freedom:
- Edit ruthlessly.
- Think before you buy and think small.
- Make multifunctional.
Let’s make room for the good stuff.
